Kent Quasar: A Conflagration

2026 Album Roundup #1

Well now that we've established the best album of 2025 we can turn our focus to the present.

Here are the albums I've listened to so far this year and some (fairly) brief thoughts.

Poppy - Empty Hands

Man I wanted to like this more. It feels like Negative Spaces but just worse all around. I like Guardian. Maybe I'll have to give it another go, but it was very mediocre.

Zach Bryan - With Heaven On Top

Why on earth is this 25 tracks and 75 minutes long? I generally like Zach Bryan but woof trying to finish this album was a slog.

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost

This was dope. Ive listened to Injury Reserve a few times and never really loved it. Idk that I love this, either. But I definitely enjoyed it more. In My Town is so good. The last two tracks also. I gotta listen more.

Hemlocke Springs - The Apple Tree Under The Sea

I generally dug the going going gone! EP and this album is another step in the right direction. Very fun, catchy art pop.

Mandy Indiana - URGH!

Electro/industrial? It's interesting. Ive only listened once. It was good not great imo but definitely unique.

Out but haven't listened yet: charli xcx- Wuthering Heights soundtrack - ive enjoyed the few tracks ive heard. Heard the movie is absolute trash lol.

I think that's all ive listened to in full so far this year. Some cool stuff coming though. New Jessie ware, my new band believe, new venturing track is sick. I know theres more that im forgetting.
