Kent Quasar: A Conflagration

The 25th Best Album of 2025

The top 25 has arrived and brings with it a surprising entrant. I'd listened to this artists releases the past few years and could not really get into them, but reluctantly gave her another shot and woo did she deliver. This is Sincerely, by Kali Uchis.

As mentioned I listened to both Red Moon in Venus and Orquideas in the past two years, both albums being generally enjoyed by the internet community at large and could not see it. I avoided this album at first but a single came onto my Discover Weekly playlist and I was surprisingly digging it so decided to give it a shot. She took a much more soul vibe on this album rather than the R&B of previous albums and I think it's a much better fit. There's also a bit of dreamy pop vibes too which are also nice. Whatever happened to soul music man, I need to get into that some more, 2026 year of soul revival? That would be dope.
