Kent Quasar: A Conflagration

The 27th Best Album of 2025

Another spot, another highly anticipated album for Mr. Quasar that just fell a little short. This time its the self-titled Disiniblud collaboration between ambient artists Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith.

Rachika Nayar came crashing onto my radar with my absolute favorite album of 2022 Heaven Come Crashing. I hadnt listened to much ambient music, still dont tbh, but that album had me spellbound for all 50 minutes. So after 3 years I was super excited to see new stuff coming out. The singles came out and I enjoyed them, but they didn't grip me the way Heaven Come Crashing did. And the album followed suit. I think its still quite pretty, but honestly I think I just prefer Nayar's guitar solo. The extra instruments and vocals can be nice at times, like on Its Change. But I think overall they take away from what I want to hear rather than enhance it. Hopefully a new solo project is coming soon, but this is more than enough to tide me over until then.
